The City Government of Bacolod City, under the leadership of Mayor Greg G. Gasataya, extends its sincere appreciation to the organizers and participants of The Racing Line for their responsible decision to cancel the scheduled drag racing event set on March 27–29, 2026, and for their understanding and support of the cancellation of the previously issued special permit for the activity.

In light of the current energy crisis affecting the country, this gesture reflects a deep sense of empathy and solidarity with the general public, particularly with consumers who continue to bear the burden of rising fuel costs. Your initiative demonstrates that beyond competition and sport, there is a shared commitment to social responsibility and the greater good. We also recognize the sacrifices made by participants who have traveled from neighboring areas such as Iloilo and Cebu.

In this regard, the City Government respectfully urges hotel owners and public transportation operators to extend consideration by facilitating refunds or providing reasonable accommodations for those affected by the cancellation.

Bacolod City stands with all sectors in navigating these challenging times, and we commend actions that prioritize compassion, cooperation, and public welfare.

Thank you, and we look forward to the safe and successful staging of the event at a more appropriate time.
