While waiting, here’s a short article on the heart pumping qualifying round this morning!
It was an intense Qualifying Round for Team Suzuki Pilipinas at the final round of Suzuki Asian Challenge (SAC) 2017 here at Chang International Circuit. Team Suzuki Pilipinas April King Mascardo (#16) and Eane Jaye Solacito Sobretodo (#22) are racing with equally strong contenders from Australia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
Mascardo and Sobretodo were both conditioned for the race after making the necessary adjustments on their motorcycles following the two practice races yesterday. On to the qualifying, both were on a good start but Mascardo low side crashed mid-way to his first lap which required him to go out of the track to have his bike fixed. With only 15 minutes remaining to the qualifying, SAC mechanics helped together to repair the bike and with 7 minutes on to the qualifying, Mascardo was again back on the track.
The goal now was to just complete a lap to secure his position on the grid, with only few minutes remaining he managed to clock 2.18.749 on his first lap and on to his final lap, he gave it all with a time of 2.16.561 which gave him the 4th position on the starting line. It was an impressive feat showcasing his prowess and ability to secure his position in the overall standing of SAC. Sobretodo concluded with a best lap time of 2.17.361 and will start on 8th position.
The team is getting ready for the Race 1 today at 5:10PM Philippine time. Catch the action live at Asia Road Racing Championship
