The Regional Underbone Grand Prix circuit racing was a slam bang event last weekend, Suzuki Factory Racing team joined the spectacular race with its top National Riders John Lery Enriquez, Paul Mark Doblada and Ivan Satniago with more than 100 participants coming from General Santos, Tagum, Panabo, Malita and Calinan. National Motocross riders also joined the race such as Heikki Gabuelo and Kimboy Pineda of Tagum City.
It was a jam-packed Sunday afternoon with thousands of crowd cheering for its respective teams. The presence of the Suzuki National Riders was indeed a big challenge for our local heroes such as Rafael Dayao of TMR-MB101, Ernie Daguio Jr. of Nanto System and Vingie Coloma of MTRT. The Suzuki Racing team also have a handful of challenges as they battles wheel to wheel with our riders in the AT Open, 125 & 150 Novice Open class. On the 4-Automatic Open class, Jay-R Daguio was leading all the way up to the 6th lap of the race, who was being chased by Ivan Santiago on board Suzuki Step 125, while Daguio is riding a Yamaha Mio. Ivan Santiago of Suzuki Factory Racing team was having a hard time with Daguio’s superb riding skills. However right before the 6th lap, Santiago Manages to overtake Daguio on the first corner coming from the 125 Meter straight away and never looked back, bagging the 4AT Open champion.
The hero of the day was Vingie Coloma of MTRT who hails from Calinan, made the crowd go wild as he challenges two Suzuki Factory Riders in the person of John Lery Enriquez and Paul Mark Doblada. After taking on the first corner on the opening lap versus John Lery Enriquez, Coloma was able to do defend his position wheel to wheel up to the checkered flag. The Crowd was very ecstatic as Enriquez made multiple attempts in overtaking Coloma but to no avail, Coloma bags the 125 Novice Open champion. Coloma is sporting a modified Honda wave 125 while Enriquez is riding a stock Suzuki Smash 115.
