SLAM BANG ACTION DURING THE 2ND ROUND
2010 PHILIPPINE AUTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES
Hervie Jao of Phat Speed got the taste of being the fastest guy on the track during the second round of the Philippine Autocross Championship series Davao. Hervie Jao the older brother of the reigning driver of the year Hernel John Jao who are both competing for the title. Hervie Jao sporting a new Toyota GT turbo got the fastest time of the day during his run on the Experienced Modified-B class. Hernel John Jao matched the fastest time of Hervie clocks in at 58.12, however he got two penalties in the process. MIkki Cong of DMT also joined the barrage of lead changes, Mikki Cong sets the fastest time of the first clocking in 59.73 during his run on the Novice Modified B, break his own record again during his run in the Experienced Modified-B, but after that run, it was Hervie Jao’s turn to beat the time, setting the fastest run of the day.
Hervie Jao got the overall fastest time of the day, Hernel John Jao settled for second place and Mikki Cong got 3rd best overall. These top three drivers got at least a minimum of three class championships, which means to say that Autocross is really very competitive.
Jasper Huang of Previa-Quickworks sporting a new car got the championship of the special class while newcomer Jog Young of Phat Speed Racing got the Novice Stock –A. Nino Aliviado who is also from Phat Speed, won the Novice Modified-A using a Toyota Old School starlet.
