Philippine Autocross Championship Series – Iloilo Round 1

 

The second regional AutoCross event happened last January 17 and 18 at the SM City in Ilo-Ilo in the Visayas region. More than 40 enthusiasts drove their daily rides on the parking lot-cum-race track of SM City Ilo-Ilo for the first time. Jong Uy of 5^th Gear Motorsports Davao and Danny Santiago of Shago Racing Manila, both the event organizers, were on site to give the drivers a crash course in precision driving and handling their vehicles on an Autocross race track. The participants joined the hand full of categories from the Stock A Class 1600 and below to the Special Classes such as the Girlie-Girl Class and the All VW Class.  The event is also the first round of the Autocross Championship series in Iloilo which is also co-organized by Out of the Box headed by Rahkee Villarosa Chuck Go.  The organizers have scheduled multiple AutoCross races in the Visayas and Mindanao areas such as Cebu – 5 rounds, CDO – 5 rounds, Ilo-Ilo – 3 rounds, and Davao – 5 rounds within this year.
