THE RACING LINE’S REGIONAL UNDERBONE GRAND PRIX
ROUND 3, TAGUM CITY (Mindanao Series round-3)

April King Mascardo of Phoenix-Honda RM Gear won all three categories he participated in The Racing Line’s Regional Underbone Grand Prix in Tagum City. The 13 year old kid won the Pioneer Mighty Gasket 160 Beginners open, 100-125 Beginners Open and the Beginners 130cc outclassing all his opponents who are much older than him, while team mate Chriss Karlo Samoga won two categories at the same time the Novice 130 and the Novice 4-Stoke Open.

In the Pioneer Mighty Gasket Scooter 160 Beginner Open final heat, Mascardo was leading up to 3rd lap until his rear tire slip in the hairpin curve going into the inner part of the track, Rheyniel Lozada of Davao Scooter Club took the lead. Mascardo pick himself up quickly as he maintains the second position and charge back at Lozada. Lozada was able to maintain the lead, smoothly navigates around series of back markers while Mascardo was simply closing on him. Mascardo was able to take the lead back from Lozada at the second corner of the final lap of this category, wheel to wheel battle from corner to corner up to the checkered flag. Mascardo wins the Pioneer Mighty Gasket 4AT Scooter beginner 160 Open.

In the MTRT 4AT Scooter First Timers Open, first timer rider of Honda – Motorbikes-101 Anthony Redoble was simply amazing. Starting at pole position of the MTRT 4AT Scooter 130 first timers failed to react in the starting light. He then crosses the start finish line last in the opening lap of the race. He charges back and was able to get close at 2nd position at lap #3, he was able to maintain that position until he slip his rear tires going into the 4th turn oval and slide down to 5th place. He pick himself up quickly and charges back at the race leaders, sheer determination and composure, he was able to get close to 2nd place in the last lap and was able to take on the race leader in the last corner of the race track and crosses the finish line in a very exciting fashion. Anthony Redoble got his first championship only on his second race.

In this round, marks a substantial number of scooter racers, a total of 45 entries in the scooter category alone with 18 racers joined the first timers class, simply implying that automatic scooters are really the top choices for racing nowadays. Phoenix- Honda RM gear and Honda – Motorbikes 101 simply dominated all the 4AT Scooter Category of this round, getting the well deserved championships points in the scooter category closing in to their strong rival, the top guns of scooter in Mindanao, the Davao Scooter Club. This will be an exciting indication of what will the Davao Scooter Club will do in the next round in Cagayan de oro for them to maintain their domination in the 4AT-Scooter Category. Two races to go in the 2011 season, nothing is more exciting than this one, who will dominate the scooter category in the land.
