Hernel Jao Does It again!

THE RACING LINE’S REGIONAL AUTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS
TAGUM CITY ROUND 2

Hernel John Jao of Phat Speed Racing, the 2009 Mindanao Driver of the Year dominated round 2 of The Racing Line’s 2011 Regional Autocross Championships. Jao clocking in at 46.05 beating team mate Sid Datukon in the drag race design track in the Experienced Modified B class, Datukon clocks in the first fastest run at 46.86 and got hold of the lead for short time after Jao beat his time. Datukon settled for 2nd overall and Jao’s elder brother Hervie Jao got 3rd fastest. More or less a duplication of the Davao race at Makro. Top three podium finishes got sweep by Phat Speed Racing.

In the Novice Class, Jog young of Davao Auto Club got two wins, outclassing his team mate on the track, winning the Novice Mod-B and Novice Modified C, winning a lopsided victory with more than six seconds sets him apart the 2nd place position racer. Emmanuel “Apang” Sicam, the president of the Federation of Automobile Clubs of the Davao City also shares the same lime light, winning two class in this round the All lancer – B Class and Novice Modified-A class. Sicam sporting his old school Mitsubishi lancer box type, made substantial improvement in his run, he clocks in at 54.43 in the All Lancer Class and improves further in the Novice Modified – A clocking in at 52.55.

“Overall it was a fun and exciting race, racers from Davao surely had a great time on the track, since that we made a drag race design track were they can experience a dose of speed and technicality at the same time which was designed by Race Director Neil Labrador” Jong Uy said Race Chairman of RAC “We would like to thank all our sponsors and drivers who went all the way from Davao”.
