Davao Racers dominated the Cagayan de Oro Race
Phat Speed’s Hernel John Jao, defending 2009 driver of the year is now in close battle with Dynamic Performance’s Sid Datukon, both using a Toyota Starlet GT Turbo. It was a tight battle, between these two drivers with multiple lead changes, beating the fastest time again and again. Sid Datukon prevailed in the end, as both drivers showed great performance in the high speed oval track at Limketkai Center. Coming in third overall in Mark Caneta using an old school Toyota Starlet.
Davao Racers who participated in the Cagayan de Oro race are Phat Speed’s Hernel John Jao, Dynamic Performance’s Sid Datukon, Roy Dennis Bala and Jolan Casaway of Gulf Speed racing, Cocoy Dalugdog of Previa-Quickworks and Dong Magkidong of RRObs Enginetics. Racers from Cagayan de Oro are from Prodrive, Autoworks, The Source – Prodrive.
The Canete brothers Nico & Macky dominated the Novice Modified-B and the Old School Class, making them one of the fastest autocross racer in Cagayan de Oro
The race marks the second autocross race in the City, proving that autocross racing in the country is indeed growing. “ we would like to thank all the Davao racers who joined the race as well as the Kagayanons” Jong Uy said, Race Chairman of the Philippine Autocross Championship Vis-Min series.
