An Exciting Finish for Round-3 of the Philippine Autocross Championship Series

The battle between Davao’s 2009 Driver of the Year Hernel John Jao and Sid Datukon continues, It was a down to the wire race for the fastest time of the day as Hernel John Jao beat Sid Datukon during his final run of the day clocking in at 1:05.69 in the Open-C class, while Sid Datukon was holding his fastest run at 1:05.91 since his run on the Experienced modified-A, it was long wait for Datukon until Jao crosses the line a few milliseconds faster than Datukon.

Jasper Huang of Previa Quickwerks, won the Previa quickworks special class once again outclassing Cocoy Dalugdog and Rex Abrenilla. Huang also got two second place positions consecutively in the Novice Modified – B and Novice Modified – C respectively. Top driver of DMT Mikki Cong also got two consecutive championships in the Novice Modified – B and Novice Modified – C respectively.

Sid Datukon of Dynamic Performance got most number of championships, Experienced Mod-B, Experienced Mod-C and Open-B, an expected performance from Datukon for this race since that he has blown his engine during the last race and only scored 4-points compared to Jao, who got 8-points in the last race, who is currently ahead by only 4-points in the quest for driver of the year. After the 3rd round, Jao now has a six point lead over Datukon. Expect another slam bang action on the last round as it will be a winner take all double point race.
