2010 Philippine Autocross Championship PR Davao- Round One

Exciting 2010 Race season opener

The 2010 Davao Race Season unfolds last weekend at SM City Davao, over 100 racers and 5,000 race fans witness the exciting battle.  This proves that the Davao racing scene is indeed growing since Autocross Racing started in 2006.           Its business as usual for the reigning driver of the year, Hernel John Jao, but it was not a walk in the park for Jao, the race recorded eight lead changes with a wet track, after running the stock class, the rain poured but the race still went on. The best time for the day was clocked in by Bj Grasparil of Phat Speed racing at 47.43, Mikki Cong then set a new time to beat at 46.57 running in the Novice Modified-C, Sid Datukon of Dynamic Performance erased the score sheets when he clocked in at 43.98 under wet conditions running in the Experienced Modified-B, however Jao erased the record again in the same category clocking in at 43.57.  Datukon manages to beat the record again at 43.37 running under the Experienced Modified-C and Jao again beat Datukon’s run at 42.78 which eventually became the unbeaten record and the fastest time of the day.

“What a way to open the race season here in Davao” said Jong Uy Race Chairman and Executive Producer of The Racing Line, “It was really wet and we never thought that they can beat the time again and again” he added.  The Racing Line would like to thank the sponsors in making this race possible, Castrol Edge, Castrol Magnatec, Spyder Shades and Helmet, TBR Concepts, SM City Davao and our media partners The Mindanao Times and Checkered Flag magazine.
