Round-4 of the regional underbone grand prix circuit race was the turning point of the series, top three riders who are battling out for position in the quest for the Davao Rider of the year is as tight as it could be, Ernie Daguio jr. of Honda Powercycle-Jr Upholstery, Raphael Dayao of TMR-Motorbikes-101 and Romeo Osigan Jr. of Suzuki-VMAN Racing-Spyder. Osigan leads these three riders with only one point ahead of Daguio and 12 points ahead of Dayao going into this race. Vingie Coloma of TMR-Motorbikes-101 is also on the hunt for the Rider of the year who is running in 4th overall.
Coloma sporting a new motorcycle coming into this race was one of the favorites, winning three race classes 100-115 super stock beginners, 125 beginners open and the 4-AT Novice open, while Daguio only manages two, the 125 & 150 novice open and Osigan only manages to win one, while Dayao having problems with his motorcycle during the first heat only manages to win two 3rd place finishes in the 4-valve open and 4-AT Open respectively.
April King Mascardo the youngest rider of the series from Suzuki-VMAN Racing-Spyder won 3rd place in the 100-115 Super Stock beginners, he made a bold and brave as he started 5th on the grid and manages to overtake two riders in process.
5th and final round of the series will be the turning point, it will be a winner take all race which will be happening on November 15, 2009 at SM City Davao.
